Addressing The Technician Talent Shortage
Thursday, April 4, 2024 (9:30 AM - 11:30 AM) (EDT)
Description
The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce invites you to an information sharing event featuring Amanda Willard, Amazon’s global workforce development strategist, Andrew Gillies, Copeland's Technical Training Program Manager, and Dr. Parminder Jassal, CEO & Founder of Unmudl Skills-to-Jobs® Marketplace. Amanda, Andrew and Parminder will provide an update on the success of the Skills-to-Jobs® approach in how to build a technician pipeline ecosystem for technician roles that are driven by mechatronics and robotics. The morning will begin with a networking breakfast from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., followed by the program from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The format provides a perfect blend of informal networking and structured learning, offering insights into how community colleges can align their programs with the needs of the workforce today and in the future. The event will not only shed light on the current industry needs but also offer a platform to discuss how your organization can play a significant part in addressing the technician talent shortage through innovative education and training solutions. Technician talent includes roles such as reliability and engineering technicians, control technicians, automation technicians, process technicians, robotics technicians, reliability technicians, compressor technicians, aviation maintenance technicians, and other technician-related positions. While attendance is free, all participants must register as space is limited. More information on the Unmudl/Amazon partnership can be found in the Forbes article here.
