The Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center is an arts and culture organization in the heart of Covington, Kentucky. Founded in 1922, the center has grown to encompass almost 3 acres hosting beautiful gardens and 4 historic buildings which house art classes, community events, lectures, concerts, and more. Our goals are simple: to make art and culture available to all, young and old, on campus and off, for the enrichment of our students and the cultural development of our community.

Baker Hunt is seeking a passionate, dedicated leader to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will help shape the strategic direction, ensure financial health, and advocate for our mission in the community.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Strategy: Provide oversight and contribute to the organization’s strategic plan and long-term goals.

Financial Stewardship: Review annual budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure adequate resources.

Advocacy: Serve as an ambassador for the organization and help build community partnerships.

Board Participation: Attend and actively participate in regular quarterly board meetings reviewing all provided materials and items for discussion in advance of each meeting.

What We’re Looking For

We are building a diverse board and welcome candidates with varied backgrounds and perspectives. Ideal candidates bring experience in one or more of the following areas:

-Fundraising and Community Engagement

-Legal Expertise

-Marketing Expertise

Previous board experience is a plus, but first-time board members with a strong passion for our mission are encouraged to apply.

Time Commitment

Board meetings: 90-120 minute meetings once per quarter.

Committee work: as necessary

Annual events/retreats: attend several of the planned events and programs as able

Term length: Five years.
