NKY History Hour: Archie Williams: NKY's First Eagle Scout with Shane Noem
Tuesday, October 20, 2026 (6:30 PM - 7:30 PM) (EDT)
Description
From rural Grant County to the railroads of Latonia, Archie Williams grew up to become Northern Kentucky’s first Eagle Scout and founder of Baker Hunt. Join Shane Noem for the NKY History Hour to explore how Scouting shaped Williams’ lifelong interests in invention, art and community service, and what his story reveals about life in our region in the early 1900s. NKY History Hour is a virtual program, offered exclusively online. Participation is free, but registration is required to join via Zoom. To register and receive a Zoom link, visit: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_a2jgosPgQZ-MyVjjVYZiFA The event will also be streamed live on BCM’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bcmuseumnky. All past NKY History Hour episodes can be viewed at bcmuseum.org. Shane Noem has more than two decades of experience working across Kentucky in government, politics, business, and community leadership. His career has taken him from the halls of government to communities in all 120 Kentucky counties, giving him a unique perspective on the people, businesses, and organizations that make the Commonwealth work. Before founding Roebling Solutions in 2021, Shane served in senior leadership roles, including work with Senator Mitch McConnell, and previously served as the Northern Kentucky Senate Office Liaison. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation as a trusted advisor and relationship builder, working with leaders and organizations across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Shane's commitment to service extends beyond his professional career. He has been deeply involved in Scouting America, earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 2003 and later receiving the organization's Silver Beaver Award in 2024, one of Scouting's highest honors for distinguished service to youth. In 2025, he was also recognized with the Horizon Award. A graduate of Western Kentucky University, Shane has remained particularly connected to the communities and people of Kentucky. His work has consistently centered on bringing people together, building strong relationships, and helping communities and organizations turn good ideas into meaningful results. Shane and his wife Tara have three kids and live in Fort Mitchell when they are not visiting National Parks. NKY History Hour programs take place every other Tuesday evening.
