Join Women's Initiative for the monthly networking event, Connect Hour! This is a free networking opportunity for current and future Chamber members. Invite co-workers and friends for a fun night of exploring a Chamber member business, getting to know a nonprofit and meet other professional women in the area.

Nonprofit Spotlight: Samaritan Car Care Clinic

The Samaritan Car Care Clinic addresses transportation barriers low income families face on their path to self-sufficiency. The Clinic works on a referral basis with social service agencies in Northern Kentucky and is currently the only nonprofit vehicle repair shop in the area.

Close to 70% of the low-income families referred to the Samaritan Car Care Clinic for help with car repairs are led by single mothers. Another 15-20% of referrals are single women, who once were single mothers, and who still struggle to attain financial independence after the financial stress of being a single mom for multiple years. Feedback received from Ion Center, Brighton Center and other referral partners is that helping a low-income single mom with a car repair is immediately transformative -- she can keep getting to her job and supporting her family.
